Your Baltimore Trauma Therapy Companion Guide: Where to Find Calm, Joy, and Support in the City

My Favorite Local Spots: Fall 2025 Edition

When people search for a trauma therapist in Baltimore, they’re often looking for relief, grounding, and a sense of safety — but healing doesn’t begin and end in a therapy room. The spaces we move through every day have just as much impact on our nervous system as the conversations we have in session. Sometimes, the most powerful parts of healing happen on a park bench, in a quiet bookstore, or while sipping a warm drink in a cozy café that makes your shoulders drop an inch. As both a trauma therapist and a Baltimore local, I’ve learned that where we spend time can deeply support our healing (especially if you’re working through people-pleasing, burnout, trauma healing, or chronic stress). So, I’m sharing the Baltimore spots I personally return to when I need to regulate, reconnect, or remember what ease feels like in my body.

🧘🏻‍♀️ Studio 138

I'm going to be honest, I'm almost hesitant to include this spot because I love it being a hidden gem. BUT, they are also too awesome for me to gatekeep. This spot has become a lily pad in my weeks- and I say that as someone who is not an exercise person! If you're looking for a place that genuinely creates space for movement to feel fun (not competitive or judgey), you've got to check them out. Don't sleep on their IG for the latest on scheduling either.

In the era of Amazon, I find extra joy in shopping small. Found Studio is a local shop and it's woman owned, a winning combo! I consider myself a Type AB person (lolz) because while there are some things I'm a total Virgo about, there's a lot that I am throwing together last minute. Rather than feeling frazzled when I'm grabbing a last minute gift or seasonal decoration, whenever I walk into Found, my body reflexively takes a deep breath. In nervous system lingo, we call that a glimmer (something that's the opposite of a trigger, in that it moves your body towards regulation rather than away from it). And in 2025, I feel extra grateful for every single glimmer.

When my baby wakes up early on the weekend, it has been SUCH a relief to know exactly where my first stop is going to be. For much of my 20's, I lived within a few blocks of the market and would be there every single weekend without fail. Sometimes when I walk around, it feels like I can see younger me wandering through after a Bike Party or before a potluck. Now I'm there hours before 25 year old me ever made it there, and those early morning hours feel so sweet.

Before you @ me, yes- this is one of the vendors at the Waverly Farmers Market and yes, I'm counting this as its own spot on my Fall Favorites list rather than clumping it in with the market. Had I had chai before Chachu's? Sure. Did I ever think about chai after I finished drinking it (before Chachu's)? Absolutely not.

How These Spaces Support Baltimore Trauma Therapy and Everyday Healing

As a trauma therapist in Baltimore, I’m always reminding clients that healing isn’t just about talking through the difficult parts; it’s also about intentionally creating moments of regulation, comfort, joy, and aliveness in your everyday environment.

Whether you’re already in trauma therapy in Baltimore or you’re just beginning to look for support, it’s important to know that real change happens between sessions too. The nervous system learns through repetition and lived experience — not just insight. That’s why finding spaces where your body can soften, breathe, and feel like you again is part of the work.

These are the places that have become part of my healing practice, and they might just become part of yours.
