Therapy for your Pluto Square*

At what point does it shift from a quarter-life crisis to a mid-life crisis and what do we call the in between? Settling into yourself is a full on journey. Life has found ways to level up and you may be noticing that in your career, with family, with community, or in your relationship with yourself. It makes complete sense that you're feeling in the trenches, especially because trauma magnifies these life transitions. Your "sticks" in this era are often lingering pieces of your shadow self. For many folks, these are years of deepening transformation, and finding presence in your own voice.

*I am not an astrologer, just a borrower of resonant and wise framings for the human experience.

Is Pluto still a planet?

Pluto squares (astrology lingo when pluto's movement in the sky corresponds to a specific position in your chart) for people between the ages of 36 - 42. Chani Nicholas let's us know that, "Pluto is the planet of power, mystery, deep psychology, wealth, death, and the underworld, so these themes will be activated during these years".

I find that people are incredibly powerful during this season. I love working with clients around the time of their Pluto Square because you are ready to get 👏🏼 shit 👏🏼  done 👏🏼. It can almost feel like when you're using one of those weight machines at the gym to isolate some muscle groups: parts of life feel stable and other parts are burning. When you say that you have tried everything, you really mean it. Which also means that you know yourself well enough that you can explain exactly what you want to get out of therapy. In the immortal words of Shania Twain (with a slight edit), "Let's go Girls, Gays and Theys"; reach out for a consultation, I'd love to chat.

Landslide
Fleetwood Mac

I took my love, I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'Til the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too
